Open and consistent communication between courts, the media and the public plays an important role in enhancing transparency and strengthening public confidence in the judiciary.

To continue supporting media judges in further developing their public communication skills, the OSCE Presence in Albania and the High Judicial Council brought together media judges from the First Instance, Administrative and Appellate courts, alongside communication and media experts, in a roundtable held in Durrës on 2 and 3 July 2026. The event focused on exchanging experiences, sharing good practices and exploring practical approaches to engaging effectively with the media and the public.

Addressing the roundtable, the Chair of the High Judicial Council, Mr. Rusi and the Head of the OSCE Presence, Ambassador Michel Tarran, stressed the importance of clear and credible institutional communication, as well as the value of continued co-operation in supporting the role of media judges.

Throughout the two days, participants took part in practical exercises on media engagement, developing clear and accessible messages and managing challenging communication situations. Interactive discussions and case studies provided opportunities to strengthen practical skills while learning from one another's experiences.

The OSCE Presence in Albania will continue supporting the High Judicial Council and media judges in their efforts to strengthen institutional communication and further enhance public trust in the judiciary.
